The Idea

To spread awareness about the crisis in the Horn of Africa by implementing a day of action in our international network of graduate programs.

The Specifics

We are graduate students in Emory University’s Master’s in Development Practice (MDP) program, one of 23 innovative graduate programs around the world focused on global poverty reduction and sustainable development. In an effort to raise awareness about the crisis and to strengthen our diverse and widespread network, we will initiate an annual global “MDP into Action” day focused on this issue.

We will invite the 23 programs across the globe to participate in this day of action, which will be launched with a kickoff event at Emory University. Participating universities will receive guidelines and resources for carrying out the day of action in their communities.
