The Idea

As goodwill ambassador and the reigning Miss Africa USA, my platform is to raise awareness and funds to Fight Against Hunger in the Horn of Africa, particularly in Somalia. The food crisis is real with over 13.3 million people in need of immediate assistance. Something must be done.

The Specifics

1. To raise awareness:
a. Wear and distribute orange (color of hunger awareness) ribbons, in the communities, at events and interviews to promote the cause.
b. Organize networking events to create awareness. Events will be free to the public and attendees will learn about ways to support the cause and the plan of action.
2. To raise funds:
a. Fundraiser:
i. Create online fundraising
ii. Send out donation letters
iii. Organize a fundraiser banquet.
3. I will finalize this project with a trip to the Horn of Africa where the funds will be used to feed Somali refugees in Kenya and Ethiopia.
